Players take credit
Kevin Blackwell left everyone in no doubt who should take the credit for the ten man 2-0 win over Hull City.
"All the accolades should go to the players," he insisted, adding, "They played with great pride and commitment, despite the blow of going a man down after half in which there had been nothing in the game.
"At half-time in the dressing-room the spirit was still fantastic and we felt we could still get a result. We set out what we wanted to do and did it."
The crucial first goal, volleyed home by Stephen Quinn, seemed to knock the heart out of the promotion hunting visitors, especially as it gave Blades fans extra heart:
"The technique involved in putting that volley away at waist height was first class. The fans, again, were fantastic and when Bramall Lane is like that I love it."
Hull came with a glowing testament from the United boss so he was doubly pleased that his depleted team had won the day:
"We kept a very good Hull side quiet until Paddy made a late save from Windass, and throughout we made the better chances. Our corners caused them all sorts of problems and even with ten men we made some great opportunities and Myhill made two tremendous saves.
