Nick excelled in United's Premiership season, to the surprise of some of his critics, but his 2007/08 campaign was hampered by a series of unfortunate injuries, which began in April 2007 with a dislocated shoulder.
Nick's non-stop running, tenacious tackling and general harassment of the opposition wins him many admirers amongst Blades supporters.
For many years, after coming through United's youth system, he had been on the fringes of the starting XI.
He has clocked up more than 250 appearances in a Blades shirt, is a former Scotland U21s international and has featured in their 'Futures' squad.
