Ian impressed enough during a loan spell in late 2004 for Neil Warnock to make a move to sign him permanently in the summer of 2006.
An experienced and reliable goalkeeper, Ian was used as a back-up to Paddy Kenny in the Premiership campaign.
He began his career at QPR and had spells at Newcastle United and Peterborough United before making his mark at Birmingham City, where he spent 12 seasons, making more than 350 appearances for the Club before a short spell at Leeds United.
