David made his full international debut for Wales in October 2005, aged 17, against Azerbaijan and has now racked up over ten caps, having also represented his country at U19s and U21s level.
He shot to prominence at his first club, Bristol City, making over 50 appearances in his teenage years and also being named the Robins' Young Player of the Year in the 2005-06 season. He joined Wigan for £2m in August 2006 and scored his first Premiership goal in December of the same year.
After failing to hold down a regular place with the Latics, David, who can operate as a winger or as a central striker, joined United on loan for the remainder of the season in February 2008 and made his debut against Scunthorpe United.
