An Australian international, David arrived at Bramall Lane in August 2007 and signed a three-year deal after Bryan Robson paid Sydney FC £46,500 for his services.
David, who began his career with Everton, moved to Oldham Athletic in 2003 and also had short spells at Halifax Town and Hamilton Academicals.
In 2005, he moved to Sydney FC where his outstanding form in the Hyundai A-League saw the winger make his international debut as a second-half substitute against Bahrain in February 2006.
