Sun Jihai became United's third Chinese capture when he signed on a free transfer in the summer of 2008. The utility player is widely recognised as the most successful Chinese player to play in England.
He played with his hometown club, Dalian Shide, in his homeland and had a loan spell with Crystal Palace before arriving on these shores permanently in 2002 when Manchester City shelled out £2m for his services.
In six years in Manchester he played more than 150 times and was a cult figure with the supporters. He has also picked up more than 60 games for China.
