Defender John joined the Blades on loan for a month ahead of the fixture with Norwich in March. He was named on the bench for the encounter with the Canaries and will act as cover for the full-back positions.
Initially with Arsenal, he was part of their FA Youth Cup-winning team of 2000. He failed to break in to the Gunners first team but had loan spells at Colchester United, KSK Beveren and Stoke City before joining Reading for £300,000 in 2006.
First team appearances at the Madejski Stadium have also been limited and he has had further loan spells at Preston North End and Crystal Palace earlier in this campaign before signing for the Blades.
