A tigerish full-back, comfortable on either flank, despite only standing at 5ft 6ins, he gave Premiership wingers a tough time in the last campaign and is not capable of giving less than 100 per cent.
In the summer of 2007 he received a long overdue call up to the full Republic of Ireland squad but was forced to pull out of a tour to the United States due to injury.
He is another in the select band of players to represent both Sheffield clubs and has also had a short period with Stockport County.
