A last-minute Paul Shaw strike salvaged a point for Ferencváros at home to Tököl - but it was not enough to keep alive the club's promotion challenge.

Fradi, who had earlier fallen behind to an early second half header from Kurucsai, claimed a 1-1 draw through Shaw's last-gasp finish from close range.

But it wasn't enough to trouble leaders Kecskemét who won again to take an unassailable 13 point lead over Fradi into the final three matches of the league campaign.

A frenetic start at the Albert Stadion could have seen both teams score in the first 15 minutes, but firstly Gasparik was denied for the visitors and then Ottó Vincze saw his close-range shot smothered by Tököl's goalkeeper Balázs.

Fradi's Péter Lipcsei was then denied by the same man from eight metres out, while further opportunities for Shaw and Fitos were squandered in a one-sided first half.

It therefore came as quite a shock when the visitors snatched the lead seven minutes into the second period, Kurucsai powerfully heading home a corner to the obvious delight of the small band of away fans present.

Back came Ferencváros but there seemed to be no way through until Szalai's cross found Shaw ready to pounce close in for his fifth goal of his debut season.

However, Fradi's promotion hopes are over for this season and Bobby Davison will already be looking at how to mount another concerted bid for promotion back to the top flight next year.

His first opportunity to plan in earnest for this will be Fradi's next game, away at Jászberény next Sunday lunchtime.
