The Blades were unable to cap an emotional return home with three points as Wuhan Guanggu secured a hard fought draw at the Chengdu Sports Center in round 12 of the Chinese Super League.

In the first home game since the devastating Wenchuan earthquake, Brazilian Dannerson gave the hosts a deserved lead just before the break, only for Xie Zhiyu to equalise for the visitors straight from the restart.

Both sides began the game cautiously, with the first piece of goalmouth action coming in the ninth minute. Morison forced the ball over the line for Wuhan, after Fu Bin's mistake, but the strike was ruled out for offside.

The Blades started to exert their authority on the game, with Wang Song hitting the bar and Yao Xiao testing the Wuhan keeper from inside the penalty area.

In the 42nd minute the pressure paid off as Chengdu went 1-0 up, Wang Song began the move on the left, before crossing for DANNERSON to head home from close-range.

The advantage was soon wiped out, though, three minutes after half-time. Wang Sheng centred, allowing XIE ZHIYU to crash the ball home giving Fu Bin no chance.

The home side were soon back on the front foot, with Wang Song and Yao Xian both having excellent shots saved, as the contest ended in stalemate.

Li Bing was disappointed not to get all three points from the game, but praised his players attitude and commitment: "We worked really hard throughout the 90 minutes and although we could have won it the result is acceptable.

"We have had three away matches before this, which is very tough for my players and I can't ask anymore of them at the moment."
