Chengdu recorded their first win in CSL with a 1-0 victory over bottom of the league, Zhejiang Lvcheng, in Hangzhou City on Wednesday evening.

Brazilian striker Rodrigues was the hero, netting the only goal of the game in the first-half.

The home side started the brighter and Blades keeper Fu Bing produced excellent saves from Yan Song, Rong Yu and Carglim, all within the opening 15 minutes.

In Chengdu's first real attack they opened the scoring in the 28th minute, RODRIGUES finished with confidence from inside the area, after a defence splitting run by Liu Cheng.

The hosts threatened after the break but the Blades defence held firm despite mounting pressure, and they weren't in any mood to surrender the lead.

Chengdu rise two places to tenth with the win and on Sunday they face Dalian Haichang, who are unbeaten this season and currently sit in third position in the CSL.

"I am happy with the result; our players did a very professional job. The lads gave it their all and credit is due to them for that.

"It will have been a busy week for us, but we have to prepare for Sunday now. The contest will be very difficult against an experienced side at this level, but we must be confident after getting our first win."
