Blades set to return to action
The Chengdu Blades return to Super League action this week looking to put the events of the last week to the back of their minds.
Li Bing takes his squad to face Changsha Jinde in a rearranged round eight fixture. The Blades, of course, have won three of their first seven games.
Due to the recent events, the game is expected to be a highly-emotive affair. Chengdu is situated in the Sichuan province which was hit by a disastrous earthquake this week which has taken the lives of thousands of people. The Blades have been at the forefront of the recovery mission - players gave blood on Thursday, have donated money and have visited the epicenter to offer support.
Coach Li Bing said: "We are all normal people, we have the same feelings as everyone and no-one can sleep well after the quake. We are afraid of aftershocks and worried about family and friends.
"We are saddened to see the devastation in our hometown but have to remember our responsibility, the right thing for us to do is our jobs as well as we can at the moment.
"We have got the match on Saturday to concentrate on. This round of the China Super League are all charity matches, all gate income will be donated to the disaster areas."
