Sheffield United's U18s earned a well deserved point and extended their unbeaten run to four matches following an entertaining 1-1 draw against Manchester City at Platt Lane on Saturday.

Aymen Tahar equalised for the Blades, following good work by Adam Chapman, after the Blues had taken the lead in the first-half.

The game started at a fast pace with both teams looking to be creative in the final third.

United's first chance came when Sean Gordon's shot was blocked on the goal line, following excellent build-up play involving Walker and Tahar.

The home side looked a menace going forward and on 31 minutes they took the lead. The ball wasn't cleared by the Blades defence and Ho Lee was given no chance by a powerful shot from the edge of the area.

The second-half began with the hosts dominating and Ho Lee produced several fine saves as the Blades hung on.

But the introduction of Luca Senicanin and Grant Roberts proved to be the turning-point. The visitors began to mount some pressure and on 68 minutes they levelled - after a precise through ball by Chapman, TAHAR coolly lobbed the oncoming keeper.

In the latter stages Boden had a chance to win the game but couldn't apply sufficient contact when well-placed.

Coach Scott Sellars was pleased with the result, but knows he side must continue to improve in certain aspects.

He said, "It is an excellent result, against a very good team and overall a very pleasing performance, although we must cut out the periods of sloppy play.

"Kang Ho Lee was outstanding and Aymen took his goal well. Also Luca and Grant did very well when they came on in the second-half."
